Juniors get cash boost

Massive thanks goes to Foundation Derbyshire for helping to fund the costs of our Juniors Wheelchair Basketball sessions.

The Junior element of the Wheelblazers squad is made up of disabled and non-disabled children between the ages of around 6 – 16, all of whom get a lot out of coming to the training sessions each Sunday. Wheelchair basketball is a fund pack, fast & frantic completely inclusive sport, but it’s also an expensive one. Thanks to Foundation Derbyshire funding has now been awarded that will help towards the cost of hiring the sports hall.

If you’ve not thought about giving it a go yet come down to a session. Juniors train from 1 – 2.30 every Sunday at Derby College Sports Hall, Prince Charles Avenue, Mackworth; just next to the new housing development. If you’re over 16 and want to get involved our Seniors session run right after Juniors until 4pm.

You can also come down and watch our first team play in the national league completely free of charge – find details of our next game here
